At Stalham Engineering, we are your local, authorised independent MOT testing station providing both class 1, 2 and 4 MOTs (car and motorcycle) for our customers in Norwich. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE MOT TEST

If you drive a vehicle over three years old, you must keep it in a safe and roadworthy condition. The MOT test checks that your vehicle meets road safety and environmental standards. Class 4 MOTs are suitable for: cars, small vans and motor caravans (up to 3,000kg). All MOT tests are carried out by DVSA approved technicians.

WHAT'S CHECKED DURING AN MOT TEST?

During an MOT Test, the examiner will check many areas of the vehicle, including bodywork, emissions and safety features. A few of the items that are checked are shown below.
  • Lighting and Signalling Equipment (Inc fog lamps & reversing lights)
  • Steering (including suspension)
  • Brakes
  • Tyres and Road Wheels
  • Seat Belts
  • Body, Structure and General Items
  • Exhaust, Fuel and Emissions
  • Drivers View of the Road
  • Bumpers
  • Noise suppression material
  • Undertray security
  • Emission control equipment:
  • Engine malfunction indicator lamp
  • Diesel particulate filter (DPF) tampering
  • Fluid leaks – engine, transmission and so on
